Varya is a two-time Webby Award-winning director and producer based in NYC.
Her work spans narrative, commercials, and branded content with clients and companies like Google, Mobvoi, Airalo, Bustle, Heinz, Vogue, Coca-Cola, Smuggler, Florence Creative, Wieden+Kennedy, JOAN Creative, Aguita, Wild Factory, and others. Projects she has worked on have been exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum, Hauser & Wirth, and The Contemporary Arts Museum Houston.
As a director, her short films TWINS: You Must Be Related! and Groundhog Year were featured on NoBudge. In 2021, she won a Webby Award for a long-form project for Google, which was also nominated in the "Diversity, Equity & Inclusion" category. In 2024, she received her second Webby for another Google project.
As a producer, her work includes Cleopatra at the Mall, starring Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga, which was exhibited at The Met. She also produced Club Rat, a web series created by and starring Eva Evans, co-directed by Allie Avital. The series, now streaming on Amazon Prime, was awarded the ReFrame Stamp for gender-balanced storytelling. She also produced a commercial for Airalo, starring Conan O'Brien.
Varya is currently developing her first feature film and several short-form projects.
